Glen E. Friedman

President of the jury

Photographer & Artist - New York

An emblematic figure of contemporary culture, and more particularly of skateboarding, punk and hip-hop, Glen E Friedman is an American photographer and artist with iconic images. He is recognized for having documented the beginnings of skateboarding in Los Angeles period Dogtown & Zboys (Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Stacy Peralta …) in the 70’s, then the heyday of punk and hip-hop in the 80’s and 90’s (Bad Brains, Black Flag, Fugazi, Public Enemy, Run-DMC, Beastie Boys…). Co-producer of the documentary film Dogtown and Z-Boys (2001), author of globally successful books (My Rules, Fuck You Heroes, The Idealist, Together Forever…), Glen E Friedman is as active as ever, especially via his Instagram account (@glenefriedman) and his website burningflags.com.

It is with pleasure that the Paris Surf & Skateboard Film Festival welcomes him this year as President of the Jury. He will also come to present his short film A look back, Dogtown & Zboys, and will be here from the opening night to the PSSSF 2021 awards ceremony.

 

Priscilla Bertin

Producer - Paris

Priscilla Bertin is a producer, and passionate about surfing and the sea. She lives between Paris and Biarritz. In 2009, she co-founded the production company Silex Films, which she runs with Judith Nora, then the Silex Animation studio in Angoulême in 2014. Her productions include features such as Rose d’Aurélie Saada (coming out soon) or series Connasse, Stalk, Culottées. She is currently producing the animated feature film adaptation of AJ Dungo’s graphic novel In Waves, which mixes love, surfing, and mourning.

 

Marion Desquenne

Filmmaker - Paris

For 10 years, Marion has dedicated herself to making documentaries on the society. These relate mainly to street culture and the reality of the anonymous people of the nation. Her latest films, which she shoots in immersion, address the issue of gentrification, the place of minorities in society, the transformation of skateboarding on the eve of the arrival of the Olympic Games. Her latest production for Canal + entitled Bande de skateuses is a reflection on the massive arrival of female skateboarding and the place of women in 2020.

Raphaël Krafft

Journalist - Paris

Born in Paris in 1974, Raphaël Krafft is a reporter, radio documentary maker and writer. A surfer, he shares his time between Paris and Brittany. When he does not cycle through France and the world, he mainly investigates the condition of migrants in Paris and in Europe. He recently produced a documentary series on surfing for France Culture.

 

Myriah Rose Marquez

Filmmaker - Los Angeles

Filmmaker and skater, Myriah is the co-founder of GrlSwirl, a grassroots community who’s focus is to empower others through skateboarding. They currently have 3 "Chapters" and are working on building communities all around the globe. Her film Uncomfortably Comfortable was featured at the PSSFF 2020 and was awarded Best Skate Short.

The PSSFF is open Thursday from 6PM to midnight, Friday from 4:00PM to midnight, Saturday from 2:30PM to midnight & Sunday from 2:15PM to 8:00PM
Single price of 7 euros for theatrical screenings
Preorder tickets online at pssff.fr and at the desk of L’entrepôt throughout the festival
PSSFF’s Off entrance (exhibitions, videos, concerts & dj sets) is free but some sessions require registering.
The PSSFF Bar is open during the festival and Fulgurance, the Entrepot restaurant welcomes you all along the festival. Registering required at www.fulgurances.com
